But what about AGI?

The argument runs on a date — five years, twenty, never. Every version of it is arguing about when, and nobody has settled what would count.

AGI is two words wearing one coat — capability and selfhood.

Only one of them is on the roadmap.

The question was never when. It was what would even count.

What this settles

So the forecasts are measuring the half that is being built and reporting it as though it were the other half. Capability is on a curve anyone can watch. Selfhood is not on the curve at all, and nobody is claiming it is.
