Genuinely rational people make terrible decisions all the time, and defend them with airtight reasoning the whole way down. The fault is not in the person, and it is not in the logic.
The choice system is an engine, not a compass. It goes wherever its premise points, immaculately.
Admit bad knowledge at the base and the reasoning that runs on it will spiral — cleanly, confidently, straight into ruin.
