What is a scholar?
This is the word doing the most damage, because the thing it names is running almost everything and is constantly mistaken for something else.
One who studies, interprets, or extends philosophy — another’s, or even his own — without having tested it by reliance.
Knows the map; has not staked anything on it holding.
The scholar is how thinking survives the person who did it.
